The East Gaza Directorate of Education has reopened the historic Al Kamaliya School in the Zaytoun neighbourhood of Gaza City to revive education after the war.
Dating back to the Ottoman era, the school stands as one of Gaza’s oldest landmarks. Its reopening comes amid the Israeli destruction of dozens of schools during the war — a symbolic step towards restoring learning, life, and hope in the enclave.
