A former Florida state trooper has been arrested and charged in the decades-old killing of a young mother whose dismembered remains were found on Long Island in 1997, along with the death of her 2-year-old daughter. Authorities say the suspect was the child’s father and was identified through advanced DNA genealogy after decades of uncertainty.
