An elephant charged at and trampled a man during a traffic jam in Bandipur National Park, southern India, on August 10. According to ViralPress, the man was chased down by the animal after venturing too close while attempting to take a selfie. Witnesses reported that the man used a flash to take a photo of the elephant, which startled the animal. The elephant had been feeding on produce from a truck, holding up traffic for 20-30 minutes. After the attack, the man was injured but able to move after 3-5 minutes of lying on the ground.
