33-year-old James Douglas McMillan was shot and killed by law enforcement after fleeing from a US Border Patrol checkpoint on March 4th. After a drug K-9 alerted officers to his car McMillan took off attempting to flee the scene. He was chased down Interstate 10 near the Sierra Blanca checkpoint in Texas. Texas DPS said that McMillan was the only person in his vehicle and began shooting at law enforcement. Texas DPS discharged their weapons killing McMillan. No officers or civilians were killed in the process.
