US President Donald Trump has visited the US central bank and had a frosty meeting with its chair in front of the media.
The US president has repeatedly criticised Jerome Powell, the chair of the Federal Reserve, for not lowering interest rates.
The central bank has held off since Mr Trump’s second term in office began, citing threats to the pace of price growth from his on-off trade war.
Trump has called Powell "terrible" and "stupid", and insisted that there are multiple candidates who could succeed him.
