MNTN CEO Mark Douglas joins Catalysts to analyze the role of artificial intelligence in Super Bowl ads during the game between the Eagles and the Chiefs.
Douglas is critical of the AI-focused commercials, describing them as "poorly executed" and suggests that "some of them should have used their AI to get ideas for the ad." He concludes that AI companies were "not the big winners during the game."
Instead, Douglas praises smaller brands like Hims & Hers Health (HIMS) ā which raised concerns with US lawmakers over its promotion of GLP-1 weight-loss drugs ā Poppi Soda, Fetch.ai (FET-USD), and GoDaddy (GDDY) for their more effective approach. These brands successfully "sold the product" they intended to promote, he explains to Seana Smith.
