House Oversight Chairman James Comer said lawmakers will ask Bill Clinton about compromising photos and various emails that appear in the Justice Department files of Jeffrey Epstein.
“There are a lot of photos that have been released by the Department of Justice,” Comer (R-Ky.) told reporters before the deposition of the former president started in Chappaqua.
The Republican also said Clinton will be asked about Epstein’s ties to the former first couple’s eponymous foundation.
“We hope to be able to do as we did yesterday, and continue to bring some of the most powerful people in the world in to answer questions. Again, no one’s accusing anyone of any wrongdoing,” Comer said.
“We’re going to continue to seek the truth, try to figure out how the government failed the victims and try to hopefully hold more people accountable."
He noted that Hillary Clinton, during her six-hour deposition, referred many of the panel’s inquiries to her husband.
“There were at least a dozen times when she said, ‘You’ll have to ask my husband – I can’t answer that.’ So, we already had a big portfolio of questions and that increased yesterday."
