Chevy Chase opened up in the forthcoming documentary, ‘I’m Chevy Chase and You’re Not,’ about his memory being “shot” after he was in a coma for 8 days from heart failure in 2021. The ‘Community’ alum said in the CNN doc. per People, "I’m fine now. It’s just that it affects your memory, and the doctors have told me that, so, I have to be reminded of things.” His wife of 43 years, Jayni Chase – with whom he shares daughters Cydney, 42, Caley, 40, and Emily, 37 – added of what led to his hospital stay, “Something was wrong, and he couldn’t explain to me what was wrong. So, we go to the ER. His heart stops."
