Earlier this week, Belarusian opposition figure Siarhei Tsikhanouski was unexpectedly freed alongside 13 other prisoners. He is now in Vilnius, where he was reunited with his wife, exiled Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, and their children. There are still 1,100 political prisoners detained in Belarus. DW was the first international media outlet to interview Tsikhanouski after his release.
