At least a dozen people were injured after police used water cannons, tear gas, and sound grenades to break up a protest by hundreds of primary school teachers in Dhaka demanding higher pay. Police said some demonstrators attempted to breach barricades and threw bricks at officers, prompting the use of force to disperse the crowd. Several protesters were injured in the clash, and many were detained.
