The Louvre Museum says a crown left behind by thieves fleeing a daring robbery last year is largely intact and will be fully restored. The crown of French Empress Eugénie is missing just one of the eight gold eagles that decorated it, while all 56 emeralds remain in place and only 10 of its 1,354 diamonds are unaccounted for. The thieves abandoned the crown as they escaped with an estimated €88 million worth of other jewels, most of which have yet to be recovered.
