Police called in a tactical unit to the Sydney suburb of Liverpool on December 18 after they received reports that a “violent act was possibly being planned,” according to New South Wales Police. Seven men were detained and seen seated on the pavement with their hands cuffed behind them as armed officers stood guard. Police said there was no known link to the recent Bondi Beach attack.
